Most employers recommend entry through apprenticeship. There is sometimes stiff competition for some of these apprenticeships - so the better prepared you can be, of course, the better chance you will have. Other routes are through on the job training and on the job training, after some vocational training program. It takes a good four to five years to complete an apren ticeship and become a journeyperson.
